Cleats are the basic footwear for soccer players. They are equipped with studs that allow players to grip to the grass easier and gain more traction. Cleats used to be made out of leather and resembled boots, this is why they are often called boots. Now they are mostly made out of synthetic materials and plastics. They are often intricately designed.
Shin Guards
Shin Guards are the only real protection soccer players have against cleats. These small pieces of plastic are placed within the socks. These small pieces of plastic are the only thing protecting a player from studs to the legs.
Jersey
The Jersey is the most known part of a soccer players uniform. With the club badge on the front and the player name on the front it is the most recognizable part of the kit.
Soccer Ball
The most important piece of equipment. The soccer ball is used to start the game and is the main piece of equipment. Children often substitute a ball for anything that they can find. With images of children using cans, balled up trash bags and anything that can be kicked around.
